Rapid Roll ® Doors are FAST !
Ordinary doors are bottlenecks, keeping workers and materials waiting until they slowly creep open. Rapid Roll Doors open and close in as little as 2.2 seconds, to keep traffic flowing and production moving.

Rapid Roll's simple and ingenious counterbalance and tensioning system balances the door through its upward and downward movement. It provides excellent tensioning of the door panel as well as superior wind resistance.

Albany International's door blade material is not seamed, spliced or joined. The fabric g-i-v-e-s on contact and restores itself immediately.

Self - inhibiting worm gear for decreased maintenance and top performance.

The model 570 comes standard with Albany International's exclusive programmable logic controller.



Because the bottom beam is under constant tension the door panel is always under control, eliminating "door panel flyaway" and dramatically increasing safety. The steel cable remains attached to the bottom beam, extends when struck and retracts when the object is removed.

No more costly downtime! No more expensive repairs! The model 570 comes standard with a self-repairing device. A steel cable remains attached to the bottom beam allowing it to swing away if struck. The tension on the cable will automatically pull the bottom beam back into place.


COMPONENTS OF THE MODEL 570 RAPID ROLL® DOOR


1. PATENTED COUNTERBALANCE AND TENSIONING SYSTEM
The internally mounted counterbalance and tensioning system is the very heart of our fast-acting door. The pulleys are constructed of a high-impact, injection-molded polymer and contain two permanently sealed, lubricated ball bearings. Pre-stretched, self-lubricating, steel aircraft cables work in conjunction with alloy 319 die-cast aluminium cable drums.


2. VIRTUALLY INDESTRUCTIBLE DOOR PANEL
The chemical, weather and puncture resistant door blade material is tough. Constructed of a double-layer of woven polyester monofilament coated and impregnated with PVC, it is not seamed, spliced or joined. The fabric g-i-v-e-s on contact and restores itself immediately. Available in two popular colors (blue and orange), the easy to clean fabric is guaranteed for one (1) full year.
3. PROTECTIVE TOP ROLL
The Model 570's door panel rolls up on an 11-gauge ASTM 513 steel tube. This heavy duty tube is sized for maximum deflection of .01 in./ft. (.078 mm/m) and maximum overall deflection of .20 inches (5 mm). A nylon brush serves as the top seal to prevent airflow over the top roll. Front cover or full roll cover is optional.
4. SELF-REPAIRING BOTTOM BEAM
Constructed of anodized aluminium alloy, the Model 570's bottom beam is built to last. The steel tensioning cable is attached directly to the bottom beam, allowing the self-repairing device to operate smoothly and efficiently, without being reset manually. Because the bottom beam is under constant tension, the door panel is always under control, eliminating "door panel flyaway" and dramatically increasing safety.
5. SAFETY EDGE
Each door is equipped with a specially designed pneumatic safety edge that reverses the door on contact to the fully open position. The bottom edge provides a weather-tight seal in most uneven surfaces and is excellent in extreme temperature environments.
6. HEAVY-DUTY SIDE FRAMES
The 18-gauge self-supporting galvanized steel side frames are standard and feature hinged steel covers that protect the patented balance and tension system. Double nylon brushes located in the side frames provide an excellent weather seal around the sides of the door. EPDM rubber seals are optional. Steel frames painted in Silver, Blue or Brown are standard, custom colors are available. Aluminium, galvanized or stainless steel side frame covers are optional. The easy-to-remove covers are low-profile and won't corrode or rust.

7. CONTROL PANEL
Low maintenance. High reliability. The Model 570 features a state-of-the-art, self-diagnostic control panel. All control panels meet NEMA 4 requirements. All panels are UL (File #E103891) and CSA listed. Custom-designed using a programmable logic controller (PLC), control panel features a cycle counter, emergency stop and push button. Each door is also standard with two remote push buttons or pull switches.

8. IN-LINE PHOTOCELLS
In-line photocells prevent the door from closing when an object is in the doorway.

9. SUPER-FAST DRIVE UNIT
Designed exclusively for the high-speed door market, our drive unit opens at 32" (813 mm) or an optional 64" (1626 mm) per second! We use a self-inhibiting worm gear and three-phase brake motor rated for 3/4 hp or a two-speed 1 1/4 hp motor with a three-phase brake motor.
