SPECIFICATIONS & SUBMITALS
Bidder shall furnish floor layouts, technical and installation manuals for every unit shipment with necessary dimensions for rail layout and system configuration.
CARRIAGE
Frames are to be of modular design and a minimum of 11 gauge steel with a "U" channel design. They shall be not less than 5" high by 1 ¾" wide with cross bracing at no interval more than 36" C/C. Cross members shall be designed to secure the shelving to the carriage. All carriage components shall be fully welded on ranges up to 9' long. Longer ranges may have bolted splices. Carriages that have a bolted design instead of welded are not acceptable.
WHEELS
All wheels are to be made of durable cast and machine steel and are to be double-flanged with 5" contact bearing surface diameter which shall act as a guiding system. Each wheel shall be mounted on a .750" diameter solid steel shaft supported by 2 permanently lubricated self-aligning sealed ball bearing pillow blocks. All rails are to be driven by full length drive shafts.
END PANELS
All end panels are to be full height and depth constructed of not less than 18 gauge cold rolled steel of commercial quality and painted with quality baked enamel. Panel must be of a design to attach to the carriage and drive a well as to the shelving at the top and bottom offering structural integrity to the range. Front panels that are merely decorative and do not lend structural support are unacceptable. Choice of color to be specified by the customer from the manufacturer's standard color finishes.
SHELVING
Shall be constructed of an 18 gauge steel wrapper with welded triangular gussets in each back top corner. Shelf edges as well as the wrapper edges shall be triple folded to provide full access and use of shelf width. Full height "U" shaped dividers shall be welded (fixed) at back and bottom edges. Shelving tiers shall be no greater than 36"W x 12.16"D x 10"H with a 9 7/8" shelf clearance. Quality grade baked enamel finish. Color shall be light gray.
MODULAR DECKING
The modular deck shall be designed as top mounted, requiring no floor attachment. It shall consist of 1" x 1" bar stock with rails spaced no further than 84" C/C. Leveling shall be by leveling feet (2 at each location) spaced at a maximum of 11.68" C/C with a minimum of 1" vertical adjustment. In order to support the deck, spreader channels (16 gauge steel) shall be installed between rails at 11.68" C/C and bolted in place. A leveling foot shall be placed in the center of each spreader to allow deck leveling. A front ramp plate (14 gauge steel) shall be provided for smooth entrance into the system. Decking shall be .750" thick "Aspenite" waferboard. Decking shall be of a tongue and groove design to prevent shifting. The decking shall have end caps mounted on the outsides of the deck to provide a finished appearance.
TRACKS
Systems shall require a minimum of 2 tracks. Additional track placement is determined by the length of the carriage and weight of stored materials. All tracks must be driven. Tracks shall be placed no further than 84" C/C. Tracks shall not exceed 1-18" in height, therefore, eliminating the need for false flooring. Tracks shall consist of a 1" x 1" steel bar welded in an 11 gauge "C" channel 4 9/16" wide with a minimum Rockwell rating of B-95. Leveling shall be by using steel shims. Grout type support makes re-leveling virtually impossible and is, therefore, unacceptable. Track shall be designed with two return flanges a the top in order to accommodate undercarriage anti-tip devices where needed on each rail.
MECHANICAL ASSIST CARRIAGE
The carriage shall have a minimum raged load per carriage foot of 1,000 pounds. Each carriage and panel shall have a positive aisle lock that is manually engaged and disengaged.
